The King and the Crown Princess attended the EU Indo-Pacific Ministerial Forum.
The meeting was the largest to be held in Sweden during the Swedish presidency of the Council of the European Union.
At the ministerial meeting in Stockholm, participants gathered from the EU, EU Member States, the European Investment Bank, more than thirty countries in the region of the Indian Ocean and the Pacific and a number of regional organizations.
The countries of the so-called Indo-Pacific region are strategically important for trade, climate and global security. In 2021, the region accounted for 40% of EU imports and 27% of exports.
